Love in Bloom

12 Apr

We had the privillege to capture very sweet moments of Joel and Camille, who are getting hitched this coming Saturday, the 14th of April. Our casual pre-wedding photography session together was postponed twice; once due to the rainy spell we had in Singapore late March and another cause our peekture elf was under the weather from an overwhelming 3 session weekend.

We finally had the opportunity to meet this delightful couple on the first week of April and God blessed us with one of the most glorious mornings we have seen in a long time, with beautiful blue skies – check out those skies in our photographs! With the blessings of such a glorious day, what better company to spend the day with then the both of them :)

Joel and Camille are both in the Nightlife business; psssh, Joel is an expert at drinks mixology and even ran an entire outlet himself, while Camille on the other hand has her passion in music and art. They are both extremely down to earth people and actually enjoy very simple hobbies together ; watching movies, prawning/fishing and riding round Singapore on their very sporty bright orange motorbike.

They chose the Botanic Gardens as their place for the photoshoot as they wanted a nature’s paradise spot with no crowd. Am sure glad we went there! We love how the photographs turned out as we believe it really captured the essence of their love. We also have comments that some of the shots look like cherry blossoms in the backdrop; bingo! that was what we were so excited about. We went for a very natural look for this photography session, really wanting to highlight their emotions and expressions (including their fun side!).

Pretty Camille with snow white skin, just radiates sunshine with her smile :) while though Joel tells us that he just can’t seem to smile in photographs or do poses (in the first few shots, he looked really petrified by us hahaha) turned out looking great – see that glowing natural smile across his face! Must be the magic of happy thoughts and Camille by his side*wink wink*

It never fails to make us 110% happy , warm and fuzzy, when we meet couples who become our friends. It is the friendships we gain that make all the toiling in the sun and crazy editing late nights, all worth it. Though time spent together was short, we really enjoyed every moment spent with Joel and Camille who we both really bonded. We are really thankful to be able to meet them both :)

Joel and Camille were also so kind and generous to buy us coffee at Food for Thought cafe where we chit chated about life, zookeeper ambitions, and a love for cats & hamsters (heh). We really enjoyed our morning with you and are most honoured to be invited to their wedding this Saturday, to witness their vows as man and wife.

We wish you both everlasting bliss, happiness and may love always surround you both, forever.

Many blessings to you both, Joel & Camille!:)

We were trying out the miniature effect here! :) Don’t they look cute both doing the leg pop? Heh

Self-Makeup Tips for Photoshoot

22 Mar

Today we thought we will cover something different from our photography sessions and go into well, as the title says all about makeup! :) Many of our female clients who have decided to do their own makeup have asked us about tips on keeping their makeup fresh in our hot and humid weather, during our photoshoot.

We are no experts on this subject but we thought we would share with you some of the tips and products we have bought, tried ourselves, seen in action and proven its worth for us. We hope that these will help you for your photography session, to keep you looking fresh and pretty throughout :)

All these items were tested on our lady peekture elf who has sensitive skin. As always with any cosmectic items, it is important to do a patch test on your own skin first to determine your skin’s reaction to the products :)

To make it simple for you ladies, we have divided this post to One Day Before Photoshoot, Before Photoshoot and During Photoshoot. The items and steps we are about to share with you were chosen cause they were simple, easy to do at home, does not take too much time and most importantly, affordable (hip hip hooray!)

One Day Before Photoshoot

  • Pack your EssentialsThings to bring for your photoshoot for quick touch-ups and fixes to keep you fresh:
Oil Blotter, Tissue Paper, Comb, Makeup pouch with essentials: Pressed Powder, Blush, Concealer, Lipstick, Eyeliner, Eyebrow Pencil & Q Tips. Ohhh! Compact Mirror of course (;Another important thing to bring though one may ask why is it consider part of the makeup rountine is… water! Drinking more water actually helps to keep your skin feeling refresh too. Bring a straw if you are wearing lipstick to prevent smudging
  • Prep your skin!
This really helps to brighten your skin for the photoshoot day, and also allows your makeup to be applied smoothly. If you don’t have a favourite mask stashed in your home, you can consider these two easy peasy recipesfrom makeup guru, Michelle Phan.- Avocado and Green Tea Mask (Search Youtube: Green Goodness)
All you need is an avocado and some green tea leaves which can be picked up from any
supermarket in Singapore. This recipe is suppose to help soften, calm and brighten your skin.
Recommended by Michelle Phan, for all skin types.- Egg White Mask (Search Youtube: Michelle Phan Egg Mask)
    All you need is an egg, it doesn’t get any easier than this (;
Recommended by Michelle Phan for oily skin, it helps to brighten and tighten the skin.

Day of Photoshoot

  • Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise: 1st step
Apply moisturiser – this helps to hyderate your skin, letting your make up go on perfectly for your photoshoot
  • Apply high SPF sunscreen before you put on your makeup
We can’t stress more on this, especially since we have turned two shades darker since we started *cries* hehThese two steps are aka to a face primer, if you have a great one though use that and just make sure that it has SPF sunscreen in its ingredient :)

  • Set Your Makeup
For setting your makeup we found that ELF MakeUp Mist & Setworks like magic. This mist spray helps to keep your makeup from running and contains both moisturising and soothing ingredients like Aloe, Cucumber, Green Tea and Vitamins A, C & E. We love that it is an alcohol free formula. Best bit? It only costs USD$3. Yes, sometimes good things don’t really cost much too :P Other good options are Evian Mineral Spray and Avene Thermal Water Spray. These cost approximately $10 for a small bottle. You can purchase them at any Guardian or Sasa.
  • Tame stray or flyaway hair
If you are not one who fancies hairspray like ourselves, don’t fret! All you need is a little body or non-tinted face moisturiser to solve those stubborn stray/flyaway hair.  Hand cream works too!Place a little moisturiser in palm, rub both your palms together once or twice slowly to even out the moisturiser in your palm. Take the middle portion of your hair in between your palms, and run your palms down to the tip. For stray/flyaway hair at the top, gently press and smoothen them down with your palm. Repeat the whole process if needed. This should help to tame them and at the same time, maintain your soft, natural hair look.

During Photoshoot

  • Quick Little Touch Up & FixesDuring the photoshoot, feel free to let us know if you need a little time to check your makeup or do any quick touch ups. Or drink water! We are always good for time to do so :) If your skin tends to be oily, bring some oil blotter.
If you can, grab a small spraybottle from Daiso for $2 and load it with mineral water, to lightly mist your face to refresh and blot off the excess with tissue paper.

  • Be Happy. Smile! =D
What works better than make up to brighten a face? Smile!Just relax and have fun! Remember the less tense you are, the more fun you will have and your photographs will reflect your happiness :) We hope you got a little help from this if you are planning to do your own make-up for your photoshoot :) If you have any other questions, feel free to drop us a note at confettipeektures@gmail.com thank you!

We just got back from Europe (Stockholm & Copenhagen) for a short vacation and are catching up on our work now. We have found new places in Europe to love, love, love! Our dream is now to have a pre-wedding shoot in Copenhagen during Summer. We heard from the locals that its beauty will just blow us away! It was freezing colddd there, but nevertheless, we had a lot of fun!

It’s good to be back in Singapore. We have many photoshoots lined up and are really hyped up about it! At the same time, we would like to thank many, many wonderful editors and teams behind some of the greatest wedding and event websites that we never dreamed being part of! Confetti* Peektures photoshoot for some of our couples, were featured across international websites!

Screaming is an understatement of what we did, when we found out through the help of some of our great clients-turned-friends :D as well as the team behind the sites themselves, who approached us for a behind-the-scene interview about the photoshoot session.

Thank you very much :)

We are now fully booked, cept for 2 little slots from November till Mid-December. Did we mention that December is our favourite time of the year? :D The lights, the romance in the air (we think its the cold weather that adds to the atmosphere hehe) and just thinking about Christmas, makes us ohsoverydelighted!

We have to head to bed now, do email us if you would like to find out more about our December available slots and also, now open for booking in 2012! <3

Good night folks! <3

Adventures of Ben & Yvonne

29 Sep 314324_226054184108495_225894404124473_608723_1853769_n

We note this is a little late (heh) but please pardon us as we update all our blog entries here on our website!

Our first official engagement shoot as Confetti* Peektures was for Ben and Yvonne. The lovely couple are extreme vintage lovers who own not one but two pretty Beetle cars to die for! Think Kermit Bright Green and Baby Pink!

Ben is also a car lover in general, being on the road with him is an enlightening experience as he and his good friend who came along for the shoot too, discuss about cars while we were stuck in the multiple traffic jams leading up to our locations.

Yvonne is a fashion entrepreneur, and is a really sweet person by nature. She manages her own apparel brands which are retailing at chi-chi locations such as Takashimaya.  We realise that we actually like a lot of the same things i.e. food, style, etc.

Being on shoot with them is an endless journey of laughters. The cutest thing about them is if you ask them to pose, they will turn all stiff but once you tell them to relax…that’s when the real smiles come round. Our camera never left our eye cause of the precious moments we were able to catch them when they were unaware of the camera presence :P

We had so much fun on this shoot and even though we came back achy breaky, it was all worth it.

Thanks Ben and Yvonne for letting us share your wonderful joy. God bless you both!

You may view their full pre-wedding photoshoot set at our Facebook page:
www.facebook.com/ConfettiPeektures

P.S candid shots of their Solemnisation will be posted later! :P

Samantha & CK – Congrats!

26 Sep

We had the honour of photographing The Lee Family – Samantha & CK, together with their lovely boys – Cayden & Caleb and their baby bump, two Saturdays ago.  (Photos for that shoot coming up, after we post our many backdated photoshoot session blog posts heh.)

We are most happy to congrat them today as they celebrate the arrival of their 3rd bundle of joy, Princess Caitlin :)   Congrats Sam & CK! You guys are great parents, and we wish you many blessings on this joyous day!
